ITRUDUCTION ABOUT GABI

                                                                Growing gabi



    Among the rootcrops in the philipines, gabi ranks third in production and hectarage. It is because gabi is grown only as a bakyard crop and is seldon planted in more than one hectare of land.

    Recently,more and more uses of gabi have been discovered. The stem and the leaves are not used as vegetables but are also used to feed swine. Aside from being used as substitute for rice and corn as stple food being used as substitute for rice and corn as staple food, the corn and carmels are also processed into flour, starch, baby food and other high value food products.

    A closer look at the gabi industry reveals several problems. One of the problems encountered by the farmers is low production because of poor cultural management practices.
